I’m a Kansas City Chiefs fan. You know your team’s in trouble when it’s October and you’re eagerly awaiting next baseball season because the Royals have a better chance of playing competitively than the Chiefs do.
As of this writing, it’s midway through the 2nd quarter against Tennessee. In this game, Chiefs have yet to win a single battle at the line of scrimmage on any single play, on either side of the ball. The kicker has missed a 39-yard field goal. The team’s best running back has been benched for skipping team meetings. And the starting quarterback has been sandwiched by defensive linemen and knocked out of the game.
One of these days I’ll do a good long post on the Chiefs and where the light at the end of the tunnel can be found. Interestingly enough, I believe that it is the same place as today’s problems: the play of the lines.
